College Misericordia Dallas PA
College Misericordia is a 120-acre residential campus in a suburban setting in Dallas, Pennsylvania; founded in
1924 by the Religious Sisters of Mercy. Students can choose from 29 majors with an academic emphasis on
Liberal arts, professional and pre-professional studies. With a student body in excess of 2000, College Misericordia
has a Student/Faculty Ratio of 14:1 and can boast a remarkable Retention Rate of 93%.
In addition to their undergraduate and graduate programs, College Misericordia offers a variety of special
programs:
- Alternative Learner's Project (ALP) for college students who learn differently
- Center for Service Learning incorporates community service into academic study
- Distance Learning Program provides college level courses to off-campus students
- Fun and Fitness Program provides athletic and creative activities for the community
- Cultural Events provide a variety of programs usually at no cost to the community.
Lightspeed provides numerous services to College Misericordia ranging from consultation, design, implementation,
and ongoing maintenance and management. Initially, Lightspeed was contacted to help design and migrate the
campus switch network and routers from 3Com to Cisco. Today we help maintain e-mail, virus, and DNS servers as
well as management of the core network switches and routers. The most current project is installing all the
necessary components for VOIP on the faculty network.
